Measuring Student Connection - Dot Activity

How might we?:

By using this activity, teacher are able to see the students that have a firm connection to a staff member and the ones that do not. When faced when students with no dots next to their pictures, teachers are decidedly 'forced' to think of methods in way they can engage students within their class and in the school.

Describe the prototype(s) your school will focus on. Get creative. Be sure to describe the various approaches staff will take, what you will keep your eye on and how staff plan to document their results.

Using the results of the introductory activity, teachers will select 5 students that did not have as many well developed connections to 'focus on'. These students will be the ones that teachers will dedicate their year to developing more in-depth and sincere connections. Teachers will also be responsible for make positive phone calls home to these students in order to reinforce and celebrate the student's academic and community achievements.
