How might we actively engage all learners to collaboratively approach assessment and empower reflection?
Describe the prototype(s) your school will focus on. Get creative. Be sure to describe the various approaches staff will take, what you will keep your eye on and how staff plan to document their results.
Students will reflect on their learning in order to know the next steps in their journey towards mastery.
In music grade 7-9: Cognitive Therapy - awareness of themselves as musicians both individually and in the ensemble.
Report Cards: Students reflect and set goals for their Leadership page. At the conclusion of the Term they self assess and complete the reflection.
Student Work Plans: allowing students flexibility to choose the lessons they need and when they need them.
Students Need: to know the plan (lesson) and what they are expected to learn (objective) and how they are expected to show their learning (assessment). Likewise, they need time to receive feedback and make changes to lead to mastery.
Teacher's Need: To have engaging lessons that give clear targets for learning and functional assessment. They need time to give good feedback without the need for grades in order to build student capacity.
