How might we create relevant experiences which increase student capacity? 

Describe the prototype(s) your school will focus on. Get creative. Be sure to describe the various approaches staff will take, what you will keep your eye on and how staff plan to document their results.

As a group, we decided to embark on the journey of Design Thinking as our way to increase and capture student engagement. In grade two, grade five and grade seven classes the students have been working hard creating videos to showcase their learning, being apart of the creation of their own assessment and publishing a magazine to showcase their learning.

As a collective, we found the students have been engaged when they can be apart of ALL areas of their learning, when they are participating in a hands-on project and when they can connect their learning to the world around them. We are all at different points in our journey; as a group, we realized the importance and need for individual and group reflection as we move through each iteration of our projects. Moving forward, we will continue to support each other as colleagues and support our students through their learning journeys.
