In the Learning Commons we are having Book Tastings with students. Students are being exposed to a variety of books and thinking about how they choose books that they are interested in. Students are writing and sharing their choices, and signing out new books.
Students liked  the Learning Commons being set-up differently and the opportunity to look at new and different books. Students liked being able to fill out the "menu" with new books they would like to try reading. Some students struggled not seeing typical titles they would usual choose, but with guidance and encouragement were able to follow the activities in the "menu" to find books that did interest them. Further steps include showcasing more student choices around the Learning Commons with book recommendation bookmarks, student created displays, and more Book Tastings.
