How might we?:

How will teachers connect more purposefully across the grades with the goal of aligning instructional practice in numeracy for consistent learning?

Describe the prototype(s) your school will focus on. Get creative. Be sure to describe the various approaches staff will take, what you will keep your eye on and how staff plan to document their results.

What will we try?

As a school community, we will select two or three numeracy fluency strategies and review/strengthen our practice in these strategies. To do this we will utilize RVS numeracy specialists.

By doing this, we will ensure teachers understand how to employ them effectively and are using them purposely and consistently across the grades.

Eventually, we predict our deepened knowledge of these strategies will lead to greater opportunity for differentiation.

How will we approach this?

Teachers/grade teams will develop their own prototype plans to suit their needs.

Teachers will share their insights and learning at a future professional day or at staff meeting and then make adjustments.

How will document progress?

Student achievement through the use of common assessments at each grade level.
