In five words or less, describe your prototype

Engage students through authentic work

Insert an image that showcases your prototype.

How might we?:

How might we give opportunity to share and celebrate our school and students’ learning in an authentic way

Describe the prototype(s) your school will focus on. Get creative. Be sure to describe the various approaches staff will take, what you will keep your eye on and how staff plan to document their results.

What We Tried:

Inspired by Experiential Learning Week and a want for more complimentary courses, our timetable has been redesigned for an expanded CTF and Arts course offering, where students now take three (rather than two) complimentary courses per term.

In these complimentary courses we hope to leverage more authentic and engaging learning.

What we kept our eyes on:

Having field trips, guest speakers and experts, community involvement, gallery walks

How we documented our results

Sharing of learning

Documenting learning through video, audio and MyBlueprint

Meadowbrook Social Media

Seeing ELW and assignments in yearbook and on display in the school

What we learned:

There are numerous opportunities we can access which require an interest group or school developed system to actualize.

Have teachers consider ways of sharing authentic learning tasks, our student work should be more on display in our hallways and common areas

Our next steps:

Expanding social media presence to more staff and more platforms (Instagram to reach more parents and students), build upon existing events to include a broader scope of disciplines
